About Blake
Blake Mae Hughes, of the Seventh District, was born to Leonard and Clara Hughes. Blake was born on February 2nd during the year of the 50th Annual Hunger Games. Blake is the second child born to the couple after her brother Hadrian.
She grew up a curious child, always learning. Her desire for knowledge and truth fueled her life. Her mother was one of the many apothecaries in the district that helped tend to the citizens that labored in the lumberyards. As a result, Blake found herself between a world of precision and care and a world of destruction and means. Her heart yearned for the wildness and spontaneity of working in the wilderness, but her true skill came in the form of mending. Always the puzzle solver, Blake was quick on her feet and began to earn the respect of the district.
During the 75th Hunger Games and the bombings that destroyed District Twelve, rebel soldiers managed to evacuate as many skilled people from her district as possible. The Capitol acquired intel that the rebels had fixed their eyes on the strength that District Seven possessed. This resulted in raids. Blake was separated from her family during the chaos.
Upon arriving in District Thirteen, she learned that her mother and father had died in an explosion along with many others. She poured her grief into her work and became a unit medic while her brother, Hadrian, joined the rebel army and swore to end the tyranny. After the war, Blake and Hadrian found their way back to their beloved home in District Seven. There, they began to pick up the pieces of their war tattered hearts and marched on.
